For over 20 years, trumpeter Eric Siereveld has built a reputation as a multifaceted performer, composer and educator. Deeply influenced by the hard bop/post bop tradition, his compositions and improvisations are historically rooted yet forward thinking. The leader of The Organic Quintet, a fresh take on the classic organ jazz quintets of the 1960’s, Eric’s compositions are historically rooted and progressive. This collaborative group features NYC guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg, Indianapolis organist Steve Snyder, Madison based tenor saxophonist Tony Barba and Milwaukee drummer Mitch Shiner. Their debut album, “Walk the Walk” features all original compositions from the pen of Siereveld and Kreisberg and received national and international praise. A veteran of the New York City music scene, in 2018 Eric relocated to Monroe, LA to take the position of Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Director of Jazz at the University of Louisiana Monroe’s Biedenharn School of Visual and Performing Arts. He maintains an active performing and clinician schedule. For more info on Eric and the Organic Quintet, visit www.ericsiereveldmusic.com
