Bryan Murray

Bryan Murray is a saxophonist, composer, and visual artist originally from West Virginia, whose work has been shaped by years in Chicago, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, and now Minnesota. A versatile and adventurous musician, he has toured internationally with David Byrne and St. Vincent, and has performed with artists ranging from Ray Charles to Father John Misty.

Murray is the leader of Bryan and the Haggards, a project known for its inventive blend of jazz and country influences. The group has released multiple albums, including a collaboration with Eugene Chadbourne on Northern Spy Records. He has also recorded extensively with the New York-based ensemble Big Five Chord.

After two decades performing in the New York area, Murray relocated to Minnesota, where he continues to compose, perform, and create visual art.
